white-coat: Buerger’s Disease - Gangrene of the fingertips, caused by an immunological reaction to the components of cigarettes that are introduced to your system through regular smoking. The immune system attacks the chemicals and causes clotting as a form of collateral damage. This cuts off the blood supply to your fingers and toes, resulting in gangrene and, in many cases, amputation of the effected bits (this will not halt the progression, if the patient continues to smoke they will continue to form clots and cut off the blood supply to areas of their body).
